William T. Davinroy
William T. Davinroy of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2011 at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 83 years, 10 months and 1 day.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 23, 1928, he was the son of Robert Corwin and Frances, nee McCormick, Davinroy. He was united in marriage to Mary Kathleen 'Kay' Schuck on September 10, 1949 at St. Phillips Catholic Church in East St. Louis, Illinois and she survives.
Bill and his wife, Kay, were long time owners and operators of Millstadt Pharmacy. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Bill was a founder and the inaugural president of the Madison-St. Clair Professional Pharmacists Association, now known as MEPA and was recognized as its Pharmacist of the Year in 1983. Bill was active in many charitable and community organizations, including serving as an Alderman on the Village Board in Millstadt for many years and membership in the Millstadt Commercial Club, Jaycees and Optimist Club. Bill was a friend to everyone and volunteered his services without hesitation.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, Bob Davinroy.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Kathleen 'Kay' Davinroy of Millstadt, Illinois; his children Dennis Davinroy, Ronald (Ruth) Davinroy, Sherry (Pete Kobernus) Davinroy, Penny (Brad) Bobcik, Conny (Dan) Beatty, all of Millstadt, Illinois, Terry Davinroy of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Merry (Dave) Graf of Millstadt, Illinois; his brother, Joe (Carolyn) Davinroy of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; his grandchildren, Lauren Davinroy, Dominique Davinroy, Ryan Davinroy, Renee (Richie) Hauck, Brett Kobernus, Kent Kobernus, Stephanie Bobcik, Robby Beatty and Alex Beatty, all of Millstadt, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Millstadt Library and the Millstadt Senior Center.
Private funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011. Interment will be in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, Illinois.
