William 'Lawrence' Colston


William 'Lawrence' Colston passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008 in St. Louis at the age of 96 years.
Born September 24, 1911 in Senath, Missouri, the son of William Carroll and Della (Burgess) Colston, he married Esther (McFarland) Colston on November 7, 1931 in Cardwell, Missouri and she preceded him in death along with his parents; one brother, Price Colston and three sisters, Zuma Hamilton, Lillie Dickerson and Mary Hayes.

Surviving his passing are one daughter, Linda (George) Hicks of St. Louis; four grandchildren, Terri (Gary) Pyles of OFallon, Missouri, Ken (Melissa) Hicks of Belleville, Sherri (Gary) Woods of Affton, Missouri and Karen (Randy) Hartmann of Blue Springs, Missouri; eleven great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Janus Von Nida, Kyle Hicks, Alexander Pyles, Elizabeth and Erwin Corpuz, Curtis Obst, Matthew Hartmann, Alyson Hartmann, Emily and Erin Hicks; a great-great-grandson, Jason Pyles and a baby on the way; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Southern Funeral Home, 6322 South Grand Boulevard. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Funeral services and burial will be held in Paragould, Arkansas.
