William L. Carter

William Leslie Carter, 71 of Belleville, Illinois passed away peacefully on Saturday March 7, 2020 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on April 15, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was the son of Marie A. Carter, nee Stone and she precedes him in death.

Left to cherish his memory is his life parter of many years, Linda S. Holle of Belleville, Illinois; his son John T. Carter, his brother Richard Carter and his sister Margaret Carter.

William was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. In his spare time, he loved to watch old movies and loved going fishing. He also enjoyed gambling and had an insatiable sweet tooth. He was very fun loving and loved to teach children. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
