William Harold Hepler
William Harold Hepler of St. Louis, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Alexian Brothers Landsdowne Village in St. Louis having attained the age of 91 years, 9 months and 22 days.
Born on September 25, 1918 in Buncton, Missouri, he was the son of Harry and Mary (Monks) Hepler. He married Flossie M. (Sanders) Hepler on August 6, 1945 in Oleatha, Kansas.
Mr. Hepler was an electrician with Mack Electric for over 40 years, a United States Army veteran of World War II and served in the Second Division of the Normandy invasion and throughout the European campaign, a member of Jewel Baptist Church, IBEW Local #1 for over 60 years and a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 248 for over 30 years during which time both of his sons earned their Eagle Scout Award.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Eleanor (Bob) Zeller; one grandson, Jeffery D. Buhmann and a son-in-law, Johnny Buhmann.
Surviving are his wife, Flossie Hepler of St. Louis, Missouri; his children, Louis (Carol) Campbell of Freeburg, Illinois, Charlotte Buhmann of DeSoto, Missouri, Aileen (Ronald) Moore of St. Louis, Missouri and Harold Hepler of St. Louis, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a dear member of the family, Dorothy Pierce and many friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Chulick Funeral Home in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the Jewel Baptist Church and will be received at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Chulick Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Hargett officiating. Interment will follow in Lakewood Cemetery in St. Louis.
The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
