Virginia Ann Kleier, nee Lynch, 88, of Belleville, IL, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Virginia was born to Hurbert and Elsie Lynch, nee Moore, on March 27, 1935, in Borger, Texas, and they precede her in death. Virginia is also preceded in death by her late husband, Wayne Kleier; her father-in-law, John and her mother-in-law, Ida Kleier, nee Potter; brothers, Kenneth and Dale Lynch; son-in-law, George Short; and granddaughter, Gena Davis.
Virginia grew up in Elk City, OK, where she would meet many life-long friends and eventually her husband, Wayne. She and Wayne were married in Elk City, OK on October 3, 1954, and later welcomed two children, Deborah and Bobby. Virginia would go on to become a homemaker and doting mother. In her free time, Virginia enjoyed playing bingo and listening to country music. She was a game show enthusiast, her favorite being Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed cooking—her specialty pot roast will serve as a fond memory for her children and many grandchildren.
Left to cherish Virginia’s memory are her children, Deborah (late husband George) Short of DeSoto, MO, and Bobby (Laura) Kleier of Swansea, IL, as well as her seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
Per her wishes, Virginia will be cremated, and a private inurnment will take place.
