Born on November 8, 1932 in Paderborn, Illinois, he was the son of Alois and Mathilda Reinhardt, nee Schoenborn. He was united in marriage to Ruth Gibson on March 31, 1956 in Corinth, Mississippi and she survives.
Mr. Reinhardt was a utility man at Peabody Coal Company for 27 years, a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Mildred (Orville) Jakes, Edna Reinhardt in childhood; his brothers, Victor (Stella) Reinhardt, Jerome (Agnes) Reinhardt; his father and mother-in-law, Marvin and Ruth Gibson; his sister-in-law, Juanita Reinhardt and his brothers-in-law, Lee Eckert and Edwin Cebulske.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Reinhardt of Millstadt, Illinois; his daughters, Peggy (Andrew) Giancola of Alexandria, Virginia and Patty (Paul) Taylor of Millstadt, Illinois; his brothers, Vincent Reinhardt of Missouri and Felix (Darlene) Reinhardt of Millstadt, Illinois; his sisters, Lucille 'Lou' Eckert of Millstadt, Illinois and Helen Cebulske of Belleville, Illinois; his granddaughter, Lydia Taylor, of Millstadt, Illinois; his brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Lois) Gibson of Marquette, Michigan; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, August 5, 2011 from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. A prayer service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Family Hospice or the Humane Society of Belleville and will be received at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Millstadt, Illinois.
