Trudy Mae Meister of Lenzburg, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home, having attained the age of 70 years, 2 months and 27 days.
Born in Belleville, Illinois on September 14, 1948, she was the daughter of George and Colleen Meister, Sr., nee Mueller.
Trudy was a member of St. Peters United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, Illinois and the Rural Letter Carriers Association of which she served as secretary for many years. She retired from the Belleville Post Office in 2004 after 23 years of service.
She was a graduate of Marissa High School in Marissa, Illinois where she played trumpet and cornet. Many times, music teacher, Mr. Antry and Trudy played taps together at military funerals. She also was a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.
Trudy loved to red, crochet, balloon races and watch action movies. She was always a dedicated hard worker, whether working on her fathers farm or delivering mail, rarely, if ever, missing work.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her siblings, Vicky (Joseph) Steirer of Freeburg, Illinois, Tina (Jeffrey) Baum of Lenzburg, Illinois and George Meister, Jr. of Marissa, Illinois; her beautiful, special nieces, Melissa Rose Steirer and Jaclyn Rose (fianc, Dustin Johnston) Baum, extended family and her good friend, Iva Freytag.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or St. Peters United Church of Christ, Lenzburg, Illinois.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Peters United Church of Christ, West Church Street, Lenzburg, Illinois.
The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is assisting the family.
