Troy S. Aye

Troy S. Aye, 55, of Swansea, IL, passed away in St. Louis, MO, on Saturday February 15, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Troy was born in Belleville, IL on January 20, 1970, to William E. and Wendy (Steiner) Aye, Jr. and his mother precedes him in death. Troy was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William E. Aye, Sr. and Emma Aye, his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Doris (Myer) Steiner, his stepson, Harley Gene Zavadil and many loving aunts and uncles. 

Troy grew up in Belleville, IL and graduated from Belleville West High School. He then attended Belleville Beauty Academy and SWIC. He worked as a hairdresser for many years in Belleville and Florida. Troy loved going on adventures and was a true thrill seeker. 

Loved ones describe Troy as a naturally friendly person who never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and always had a bright smile that would lift anyone’s spirits. He was extremely smart and knew things without ever studying a subject, a quality that left his family and friends seriously impressed. He will be remembered most as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, stepfather and beloved friend of many.

Left to cherish Troy’s memory is his father, William E. Aye Jr., his wife, Jennifer Kennedy, his children, Lauren Lafollette and Tanner Backhus, his stepchildren, Joseph Zavadil, Maranda Lindsey and Monique Lindsay, his brothers, William Aye and Gary Aye, his sister, Cindy Aye, 11 grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews, godchildren and countless friends.

Troy loved a good party, therefore a Celebration of Troy’s Life will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Dutch Hollow Barn, 533 Dutch Hollow Rd., Belleville, IL 62223, please bring a dish if possible.
