Thomas M. Carrico, Sr.

Thomas M. Carrico, Sr., 85, of Caseyville, IL passed away peacefully on Sunday July 24, 2022, in Belleville, IL. Tom was born on February 21, 1937, in Charleston, MO to Joseph and Mary (nee Hayden) Carrico and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas M. Carrico, Jr, and his sons James and Jerry Duncan.

Tom married his beloved wife, Janet Carrico, nee McElligott, on February 14, 1975, in Belleville, IL and together they raised 7 children. Tom was very hard working. He retired from Mohle Automotive after 47 years as a machinist. Tom was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Caseyville, IL. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially while hosting BBQs and holiday gatherings. Tom will be remembered for his genuine kindness and generous heart. He was well-liked by all those who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janet Carrico, his children: Thomas M. (Vickie) Carrico, Michael P. Carrico, John (Terri) Carrico, Tina Thomas and Mary (Dave) Monroe; his sister, Louise Knapstead, 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, extended family, and beloved friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 8, 2022 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 901 South Main Street, Caseyville, IL with Fr. Harold Fisher officiating. A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Caseyville, IL on August 9, 2022.
