Thomas Earl Bagsby of Millstadt, Illinois entered eternal rest on Monday, August 9, 2010 at his home having attained the age of 78 years, 5 months and 1 day.

Born in East St. Louis, Illinois on March 8, 9132, he was the son of Ivan Thomas and Maggie (Burgess) Bagsby. He married Donna June Kunkle on July 11, 1953 in Akron, Ohio and she preceded him in death on October 6, 2007.

Mr. Bagsby was a machinist with Union Electric, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife, Donna were his sisters, Christine Stahlschmidt and Cecelia Elder and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Stahlschmidt, Lonnie Williams, Italio Passo Antonacci and Fred Elder.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Karen Witte of Millstadt, Illinois, Janet Bagsby of Linthicum, Missouri, Larry Bagsby of OFallon, Missouri, Gary Bagsby of Waterloo, Illinois and Tim Bagsby of Millstadt, Illinois; his sisters, Louise Williams of Waterloo, Illinois and Patricia Antonacci of Spanish Lake, Missouri; his brothers-in-law, Raymond Kunkle of Fancy Farm, Kentucky and Joseph Kunkle of Fancy Farm, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Emma Nicole Bagsby, Kaitlin Witte and Kyle Witte; his great-grandchild, Riley Fairbairn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to St. James School and will be received at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 9:30 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt with Father Leonard Elder officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors accorded at the graveside.
