Sylvester Antone Dickneite
Sylvester Antone Dickneite of Millstadt passed away on Friday, April 24, 2009 at his home. He had attained the age of 86 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Born on March 16, 1923 in Valmeyer, he was the son of Vernard John and Elnora (Engel) Dickneite. He married Frances Wild on March 30, 1963 at St. Pauls Church in Belleville.
Mr. Dickneite was a factory worker for E. M. Weigmann for over 27 years and was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were a sister, Rosemary Hergenroider; three brothers, Ben Dickneite, Raymond Dickneite and David Dickneite in infancy and three grandchildren.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Frances Dickneite; his children, Robert (Wilma 'Ruby') Walker of Mascoutah, Charles (Cindy) Walker of New Athens, Donna (Bernell) Vollmer of New Baden, Nancy (John) Kish of Millstadt and Albert and Sue Patrick of Belleville; his sisters and brothers, Emma (Armin) Diemert of Waterloo, Leona Burkhardt of Waterloo, Bernadine Hieder of Chester, Marie Yount of Waterloo, Catherine (Carnell) Gilbert of Valmeyer, Eileen (Donald) Goldschmidt of Toledo, Washington, Dorothy (Raymond) Shoemaker of New Athens, Elsie Branson of Waterloo and George (Polly) Dickneite of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Dickneite of Red Bud; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Friends may call on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt with Father Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorials Gardens Cemetery in Fairview Heights.
