Susan E. Augustine

Susan Elaine Augustine, nee Schiller, 68, of Waterloo, IL, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday May 10, 2024.  Sue was born on July 18, 1955, in St. Louis, MO to Arthur and Betty Schiller, nee Leftridge, and her father precedes her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Terry Schiller.

Sue married her husband, Richard Augustine, Jr. on June 21, 1980, in St. Louis, MO and he survives.  She and Richard raised their children in Millstadt, IL and later relocated to Waterloo, IL.  Sue was a devoted and loving mother who took pride in being a stay-at-home mom.  She was very active in St. James Catholic School while her children were in attendance.  Sue was a caring homemaker and enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and creating special holiday memories for her children.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, especially romance novels and going to rummage sales and Black Friday shopping.  Sue will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend to many.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Augustine, Jr.; her children: Joseph (Cathy) Augustine, Marie (Francisco) Lopez and Jack (Courtney) Augustine; her grandchildren:  Landyn Augustine, Annalynn Augustine, Mikaela Lopez, Markos Lopez, Daphne Pitts, Abel Augustine and Miles Augustine in addition to extended family and many friends.

Services are private.  Sue will be laid to rest at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
