Stephen Patrick Carter of Columbia, Illinois passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 76 years, 2 months and 11 days.
Born on January 27, 1940 in Evansville, Illinois, he was the son of William and Stella Carter, nee Dozier.
Stephen was a veteran of the United States Army, a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Master's Degreen in Education. He was teacher at a private high school and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, Illinois.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Russel Carter, George Andrew Carter and Joseph Francis Carter and his sister, Vivianne Campanella.
Surviving are his sister, Virginia Cortelloni of Ormond Beach, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
All services will be held privately.
The Creason Funeral Home in Waterloo, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
