Rose L. Nelson

Rose L. Nelson, nee Podhrasky, 44 of Millstadt, IL passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, IL on Saturday May 29, 2021. Rose was born on August 23, 1976 in Belleville, IL to Frank and Anita Podhrasky, nee Perry and they precede her in death.

Rose graduated from Belleville West High School and went on to study at Beck Area Career Center, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse diploma. She worked as a nurse for many years. In her spare time, Rose loved to make crafts, especially crochet and she was very fond of collecting chicken décor for her home. Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother and had a special love of animals. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her friends and family; she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by a sister, Tracy Diehl and an infant brother, Joseph Podhrasky.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Audrianna Podhrasky of Millstadt, IL, her brother Edward “Eddy” (Melissa) Podhrasky of Millstadt, IL, her brother-in-law John Diehl of Millstadt, IL, her grandson Nathan Gray of Millstadt, IL and her niece Victoria Podhrasky of Millstadt, IL and nephew, Robert Podhrasky also of Millstadt, IL in addition to many other aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and beloved friends.

Per Rose’s wishes, her body was cremated and the family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date.
