Robert L. Nier

Robert L. Nier, 55, of Belleville, IL, passed away on Wednesday October 2, 2024. Robert was born on February 15, 1969, in Indianapolis, IN to James R. and Sharon K. (Liley) Nier, and his father precedes him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Nier.

Robert grew up in the Belleville/Swansea, IL area and graduated from Belleville West High School. He was very hard working and was formerly employed by American Steel in Granite City, IL and he also worked in wastewater treatment. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool, golfing, fishing and hunting. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Robert will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Sharon Nier, his wife, Donna Renee (Thuis) Nier, his sons: Robert (Jen) Nier, Jr. and Dalton Nier; his grandchildren: Mya Nier and Cobi Nier in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday February 15, 2025, from 12pm-close at the American Legion Post 1255, 201 Eiler Rd., Belleville, IL 62223.
