Rita Angeline Helfrich of Ellisville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri, having attained the age of 95 years, 11 month and 9 days.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 7, 1920, she was the daughter of Carl William and Hedwig Echtle, nee Bularzic. She was united in marriage to Vernon Helfrich on November 11, 1942 at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri and he preceded her in death on November 1, 1989.
Mrs. Helfrich was a cateress and a member of Holy Infant Catholic Church in Ballwin,Missouri.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Vernon "Dook" Helfrich.
Surviving are her children, Carla (Rex) Lange of Augusta, Missouri, Nancy (Rich) Simmons of Kirkwood, Missouri and Dave (Janine) Helfrich of Wildwood, Missouri; her grandchildren, Lara Myers (David) Venable, Shelley Myers (Dean) Siracusa, Andrea Helfrich (Brennan) Hitpas, Ashley Helfrich, Paul Helfrich and Calvin Simmons; 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Abbey, 2900 Abbey Plaza, P. O. Box 2015, Collegeville, Minnesota 56321.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Infant Catholic Church in Ballwin, Missouri. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
