Richard Thomas Meyer, Sr. of St. Louis passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at St. Alexius Hospital in St. Louis. He had attained the age of 75 years, 1 month and 29 days.
Born September 19, 1933 in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Mathias and Verianna (Gelker) Meyer. He was united in marriage to Jean 'Betty' Bean at Holy Family Catholic Church on February 9, 1957.

Mr. Meyer was a manager for National Food Stores for 44 years. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Surviving are his wife, Jean 'Betty'; his children, Deborah Blechle, Richard T. Meyer, Jr., Patricia Anne (Jim) Womack, Lawrence (Jolene) Meyer, Thomas (Kimberly) Meyer, all of St. Louis; his 'adopted daughter', Terry (Gregg) Beye; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Meyer; three sisters, Joanie and the late Pat Randazzo, Jeanie (Joe) Iwasyszyn and Connie (Jack) McDermott all of St. Louis; two brothers, Joe (Marilyn) Meyer and Mathias (Carol) Meyer of St. Louis; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call at Southern Funeral Home on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Friday, November 21, 2008 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Should friends desire memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and will be received at the funeral home.
