Richard Nicholas 'Nick' Sommers


Richard Nicholas 'Nick' Sommers of Swansea, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 59 years, 8 months and 15 days.

Born in Belleville, Illinois on July 12, 1953, he was the son of Henry and Nell Sommers, nee Williams.
Mr. Sommers was an auto mechanic and was a member of the South Side Improvement Association. Nick loved NASCAR, fishing and having a good time with friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother, Dan Sommers and his sisters, Jeannie Sommers and Kathy Sommers

Surviving are his children, Jeremy Sommers and Josh (Tia) Sommers, both of Belleville, Illinois; his brothers and sisters, James (Kathy) Sommers of Millstadt, Illinois, Christine (Joel) Welmsmeyer of Riverside, California, Anita (Bart) Hyde of Boulder City, Nevada, Jay Sommers of Belleville, Illinois and Rebecca (Larry) Zelechowski of Fairview Heights, Illinois; two grandsons, Jakob Sommers and Josh Sommers, Jr., both of Belleville, Illinois, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the South Side Improvement Association.

The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
