Raymond A. Hummert

Raymond A. Hummert of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 75 years, 7 months and 10 days.

He was born in St. Libory, Illinois on July 8, 1942, the son of George and Katherine Hummert, nee Behrens. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Hoffman at St. Peters United Church of Christ in Lenzburg, Illinois and they were married for more than 40 years before her passing.

Raymond was a veteran of the United States Military, a butcher for more than 50 years and a member of Union 655 of the Foodworkers.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Dorothy Hummert; his step-daughter, Candace Lopez-Hamilton, his brothers, Herman Hummert, Clarence Hummert and George Hummert and his sister, Marion.

Surviving are his step-children, Sterling Heil of Fayetteville, Illinois, Kim Heil of Georgia, Shelly (Mike) Dickey of Marissa, Illinois, Shawn Heil and Kelly Garcia, both of Belleville, Illinois; his grandchildren, Alexia Garcia of Belleville, Illinois, Ryan (Kaycee) Dickey, Cybil Schaeffer, both of Sparta, Illinois and Danielle Heil of Belleville, Illinois; his great-grandchildren, Michael Dickey, Lillian Dickey, Alex Dickey, Mariah Dickey, all of Sparta, Illinois, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

All services will be private.
