Michael Norton of St. Louis passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at St. Alexius Hospital in St. Louis having attained the age of 55 years, 1 month and 19 days.
Born on August 26, 1953 in St. Louis, he was the son of Gerard B. and Mary P. (Walsh) Norton.
Mr. Norton was an elementary school teacher, a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, ETC, a former member of the Holy Name Society and St. Cecelia Choir.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gerard B. Norton.
Michael was the dear son of Mary P. Norton of St. Louis; dear brother of Patrick J. Norton, Thomas (Donna) Norton, Mary Anne Norton of St. Louis, Teresa (Richard) Norton-Young and Christine Speers of OFallon, Missouri; dear uncle of Shannon and Patrick Murphy-Norton, Shaun, Patricia and Robbie Speers; dear nephew of Sister Virginia Walsh and Rita Roberts; a great man, cousin, actor, author and friend to many.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in St. Louis with Rev. Richard Tillman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Southern Funeral Home, 6322 South Grand Boulevard. Memorials may be made to St. Cecelia Catholic Church or to the donors choice.
