Michael A. Dunn, 67, of Granite City, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday July 3, 2024. Michael was born on October 26, 1956, in Longview, WA to Paul and Darlene (Sell) Dunn and his parents precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Elanor Dunn.

Michael was born and raised in Longview, WA. He began serving his country during the Vietnam Era in 1975. He returned home in 1976 and moved to Illinois in 1984. In 1985 he married and gained a family. Michael was a man of many talents and very hard working, which led him to work in various trades. He ultimately retired from Prairie Farms after many years of service. 

Michael was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, IL. Michael had a great sense of humor and was often described by his family and friends as “goofy.” In his spare time, he loved to go fishing. He was also an exceptional bowler, even into his later years. Michael loved to spend time playing with his grandchildren and being with his friends and family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and dear friend to many.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Sheila (Lawson) Dunn whom he married in St. Louis, MO on May 16, 1985, his step-children: Jeff (Karen) Bearley and Angela Judge; his grandchildren: Kaitlyn Bearley and Jessica Bearley, Alyssa Briley, Caleb Judge, Ahnnah (Ashton) Duff and Joshua Judge; his great-grandchildren: Lucas Briley, Jackson Kramer and Olivia Logan in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.

Formal services are not planned at this time. Memorial contributions in memory of Michael may be made directly to the family.
