Mary Ann Noerper

Mary Ann Noerper, nee Schaefer, 87 of Millstadt, IL passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2020 in Carlyle, IL. Mary Ann was born in Hecker, IL on April 22, 1933 to Fred and Ida Schaefer, nee Schoenborn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Noerper, brothers, Irvin Schaefer and Frank Schaefer, and sisters-in-law, Dottie Schaefer and Shirley Schaefer.

Mary Ann was a lifelong resident of Millstadt, IL. She was a woman of very strong faith, always praying for her friends and family. She was an active member of St. James Catholic Church of Millstadt and the St. James Ladies Sodality. Mary Ann worked for many years as a professional seamstress and was especially talented with crochet, embroidery and mending. In her spare time, Mary Ann loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and laughing with her friends and family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert Noerper of Millstadt, IL, Rita Barker of Belleville, IL, Rose Clarno of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Ronald Noerper of Millstadt, IL; her grandchildren: Hannah Barker, Lucas Barker and Natalie Clarno, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, IL on Wednesday December 30, 2020 from 10am-11am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church at 11am with the Monsignor Marvin Volk and Deacon Ron Karcher presiding. Internment will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Millstadt, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Council for Catholic Women (Ladies Sodality). Per Covid-19 restrictions, masks will be required and attendees are asked to please practice social distancing.
