Marvin James Bendorf


Marvin James Bendorf of Collinsville passed away on Friday, July 4, 2008 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Belleville at the age of 76 years.

Born in Aviston on October 27, 1931, he was the son of Ivan and Frances (Markus) Bendorf. He married LaVerne Proffer on July 3, 1962 and she preceded him in death.

Mr. Bendorf was a car salesman for Meyer Olds for 25 years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Korea, a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Fairview Heights and the Swansea Moose Lodge.

Preceding him in death besides his parents and his wife, LaVerne, were a sister, Mary Jane Gerner and a brother, Robert James Bendorf.

Surviving are his daughters, Marcia (Terry) Martin of Collinsville and Francine (Douglas) Yencho of Pepperell, Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Burlyn Bendorf, Sarah Martin, Kane Martin, Kara Martin, Calli Martin, Johnathon Yencho and Joseph Yencho.

All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Creason Funeral Home, Millstadt.
