Marilyn Phyllis Beil, nee Buerk, 94, of Millstadt, IL, passed away peacefully at the Dammert Care Center in Belleville, IL on April 21st. Marilyn was born on July 2, 1930, in East St. Louis, IL to Charles and Pauline (Kottmann) Buerk and her parents precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Ralph E. Beil, whom she married at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, IL on September 10, 1949; her brother, Charles Buerk; brothers-in-law, Walter Beil and Charles Beil; sister-in-law, Bernice Beil and nephews Alan Beil and Mike Beil.

Marilyn was very active in Millstadt. She served as the president of the Millstadt Community School PTA as well as the MCS Band Parents. She also served as President of the Millstadt VFW Post 7980 Ladies Auxiliary and was a dedicated member of the Zion Evangelical Church Choir for many years.

Marilyn was a devoted homemaker throughout her life and was known for her talents as a seamstress and baker. Her housekeeping skills were extraordinary. She enjoyed hosting family get-togethers in the home her husband Ralph designed and built. Their home is a registered landmark in Millstadt. She lovingly cared for many pets throughout her life and in her spare time she enjoyed flower gardening, jigsaw puzzles and following Cardinal Baseball. Most importantly, Marilyn will be remembered for her devotion as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many. She was a woman of class, kindness and lived her faith steadfastly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Marsha (David) Davis, Lois (Bill) Mayer and Tom (Debbie) Beil; her sister-in-law, Laureen Beil; her grandchildren: Glen (Melanie) Davis, Jada (Aaron) Johnson, Bart (Mary) Mayer, Nathan (Lori) Mayer, Tyler (Maggie) Mayer, Alex (Emily) Beil, Craig (Rebecca Creamer) Beil, and Morgan (Quinn) Schafer; 15 great-grandchildren and her special niece, Elizabeth Lange as well as her nephew Mark Beil and niece Cheryl Sherman.

Marilyn and Ralph will be laid to rest at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery with a private graveside service officiated by Pastor Darrell Weber.
