Mariah Elizabeth Dobyns of St. Louis passed away on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Charless Home having attained the age of 98 years, 3 months and 27 days.

Born in Maury City, Tennessee on October 26, 1910, she was the daughter of Jason and Coralee (Jones) Thompson. She married Joe Dobyns on February 4, 1956 in St. Louis and he preceded her in death in 1973.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, were her parents and two sisters, Mattie Fuller and Mary Sanders.

Surviving are her step-daughter, Brenda (John) Nagy of Mehlville and her sister, Edna Neumann. Mrs. Dobyns was also a step-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, cousin and friend of many.

Friends may call at Southern Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Memorials may be made to Kingshighway United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Wondel officiating. Interment will follow on Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. at the I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Pinckneyville, Illinois.
