Margery Ann Haas
Margery Ann Haas of Belleville, Illinois entered eternal rest on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, having attained the age of 68 years, 4 months and 29 days.
Born on November 14, 1946 in Belleville, Illinois, she was the daughter of Adolph J. and Marie M. Haas, nee Idoux.
Margie grew up and resided on the family farm. Margie retired in December, 2014 after 25 years as a legal assistant at Brown and James Law Firm where she had many friends. Her prior employment included Brown Shoe Company and St. Joseph Grade School in Freeburg, Illinois.
As a lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois, Margie dedicated her life in selfless service to family, friends, community and church. She held officer positions in the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, Catholic Diocese of Belleville, St. James Conference of Catholic Women, Metro East Vicariate and the Millstadt Civic Club. Margie was active in the Over 50 Club of St. James, the Millstadt Senior Center and was an EMT with the Millstadt Ambulance Service. She enjoyed puzzles, holiday decorating, preparing meals for special events, family and friends, enjoyed manicuring acres of grass on the farm and organizing parties and functions at work.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother, Donald Haas.
She is survived by her brother, Larry A. Haas of Belleville, Illinois; her sister, Rita (John) Rensing; nephews and nieces, Jeff (Sharon) Haas, Cindy (Rich) Hays, Greg (Irene) Haas, Jeanine Dunn, John J. (Sara) Rensing, Brenda Hampton and Melissa (Rob) Borik and a great-niece, Roxy (Ben) Jenkins along with other great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and many close friends.
Friends may call on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:15 A.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. The rosary will be recited on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. James Conference of Catholic Women or Millstadt Senior Center and will be received at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow in Concordia United Church of Christ Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois.
