Malinda M. Wienhoff
Malinda M. Wienhoff of Millstadt entered eternal rest on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Lincoln Home in Belleville, having attained the age of 93 years, 2 months and 19 days.
Born in Millstadt Township on March 12, 1916, she was the daughter of Henry and Laura (Dooley) Weilbacher. She married George Wienhoff on August 2, 1938 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Henry Alberg officiating. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1991.
Mrs. Wienhoff was a homemaker and a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Altar Sodality and the Golden Age Club.
Preceding her in death besides her husband, George, were her parents; one brother, Milton Weilbacher; one granddaughter, Dee Ann Wienhoff and a son-in-law, Arthur 'Whitey' Landgraf.
Surviving are her children, Delphine Landgraf of Columbia, Vernon (Delores) Wienhoff of Millstadt, Mary Jane Kish and special friend, Stephen Van Buren of Columbia and Father Paul Wienhoff of Cahokia; her grandchildren, Janice (Bill) Attberry of Belleville, Richard (Hope) Wienhoff of Millstadt, Lori Ann (Joe) Carbone of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Lisa (David) Gummersheimer of Dupo, Brian (Carol) Kish of Prairie du Rocher, Bruce Landgraf of Columbia and Stephen Landgraf of St. Louis; her great-grandchildren, Richard Wienhoff, Andrew Wienhoff, Michael Wienhoff, Jonathan Kish, Joshua Carbone, Joseph Carbone, Thomas Carbone, Ross (Jessica) McDonald, Troy Schmittling and Laura Schmittling; her great-great-granddaughter, Taylor McDonald; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, June 5, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:45 A. M. at the Creason Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic School and will be received at the funeral home.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Paul Wienhoff and Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Interment will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery.
