May 13, 1956 — November 21, 2024

Columbia, IL

Louann Morris, 68, was born on May 13, 1956, in Belleville, IL, and passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 21, 2024. She was the beloved daughter of George H. Holle Sr. and Virginia (Green) Holle, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her cherished son, Samuel Laytham; her sisters, Cora Weber and Mary Steele; and her grandparents, Charles and Lydia Green.

Louann held various jobs throughout her life, but found the greatest joy and fulfillment working as a unit secretary at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, IL. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching movies, reading—particularly the novels of Stephen King—and crocheting. Louann shared a passion for racing with her husband, Charles, and was a supportive member of his racing crew. Together, they achieved the remarkable milestone of owning and running a successful business for many years.

Above all, Louann cherished her time with family and friends. Her memory will forever be held close by those who loved her.

Louann is survived by her husband, Charles Morris; her children, Wesley Laytham and his wife Ayaka, Henry Laytham and his wife Courtney, and Kenneth Laytham-Goodman; her seven grandchildren, Yuuki Laytham, Drake Laytham, Alicia Laytham, HayLee Laytham, Samuel Laytham, Jayson Laytham, and Aiden Laytham; and her siblings, including three sisters, her brother Chuck Holle. Most notably, Louann shared a deeply special bond with her brother George Holle, who held a unique and irreplaceable place in her heart. She will also be deeply missed by close friends Patricia (Emmett) Argus and Barb Przybysz, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the care of Hoffen Funeral Home.
