Lester 'Ann' Mecalo

Lester 'Ann' Mecalo of Shiloh, Illinois, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 70 years, 4 months and 20 days.

Born in Millington, Tennessee on July 12, 1940, she was the daughter of Lonnie Lester Lee and Viola Mae (Reed) Mears. She married Robert Henry Mecalo on January 7, 1964 in Snyder, Texas and he preceded her in death.

Preceding her in death besides her husband, Robert were her parents, a step-son, Bobby Mecalo and numerous brothers and sisters.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Sara) Mecalo of Waterloo, Illinois and Bobbie (Ron) Knight of Shiloh, Illinois; her step-children, Rebecca DeGraw of Owasso, Oklahoma and Robin Zabienski of Owasso, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Amanda Mecalo, Justin Mecalo, Ashley Mecalo and Ronnie Knight, Jr.; her step-granddaughter, Tiera Losee, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis and will be received at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Delaney officiating. Private interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
