Lawrence Victor James Turner
Lawrence Victor James Turner of Bunker Hill, Illinois passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 at John Cochran Veterans Administration Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having attained the age of 66 years, 7 months and 10 days.
Born on February 9, 1948, he was the son of Restore and Carol Turner.
After graduation from East St. Louis Senior High School in 1966, he joined the United States Army in 1967 and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. In 1975 he graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, Illinois with a Bachelors Degree in Earth Science. He has resided in Bunker Hill for the past ten years.
Preceding him in death was his parents and his sister, Mary Sally Turner.
Surviving are his two sisters, Carol (Victor) Orlandi of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and Kathy (Bill) Perry of Coolidge, Arizona; three nieces, Linda Orlandi, Maria Neumann and Jennifer Holliman and one nephew, Michael Ross.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Friedens Cemetery, Blackjack Road, Troy, Illinois with military honors accorded at the graveside.
The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
