Larry Gene Bridwell

Larry Gene Bridwell, 45, of Sumner, IL, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Larry was born on September 5, 1977 in Herrin, IL to Donald and Mary, nee Nation, Bridwell, Jr., and they survive him. Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Rose Marie and Donald Bridwell, Sr., and his maternal grandparents, Sue and Jim Nation.

Larry played baseball and football for his high school team, the Red Hill High Salukis of Bridgeport, IL and as a child, he loved to help his father on the family farm and build race car engines. In his adult years, Larry grew to enjoy fishing and he especially loved to spend time with his mother, Mary Bridwell, and sister, Elizabeth “Liz” Bridwell. He was a loving and devoted son, father, and brother who will be missed by all that knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Donald and Mary Bridwell, Jr., his stepmother, Michelle Bridwell, his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Bridwell, Leland G. Bridwell, Lillian Bridwell, and Laylah Bridwell, his children, Conner Willis and Jackson Bridwell, his granddaughter, Juliana Willis, in addition to many friends, coworkers, and extended family members.

Per Larry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time.
