Julius E. Ludwig, Jr. passed away on January 7, 2008 at the age of 82 years. Born July 30, 1925 in St. Louis, he was the son of Julius Edgar and Irene (Ols) Ludwig, Sr. He was the beloved husband of Bernice (nee Rilling) Ludwig of St. Louis whom he married on January 24, 1948 at St. Mary and Joseph Church. Mr. Ludwig was a retired pressman for the Gast Banknote Company.

Mr. Ludwig is survived by his wife, Bernice; one daughter, Laura Ludwig of St. Louis and one son, Robert 'Lou' (Barb) Ludwig of Farmington; a sister-in-law, Wanita Vogel of Lemay; four grandchildren, Jaime (Danielle) Mertz of Cedar Hill, Robert (Tasha) Ludwig of Bonne Terre, Sean (Evelyn) Ludwig of Bonne Terre, Tanya (David) Vilcek of Affton; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 10, 2008. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Southern Funeral Home, 6322 South Grand with Rev. Randy Schmelig officiating. Memorials may be made to First Unity Church.
