Joyce E. Rasp


Joyce E. Rasp of St. Louis passed into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at St. Anthonys Hospital in St. Louis. She had attained the age of 95 years.
Born on April 3, 1913 in Biehle, Missouri, she was the daughter of Ferdinand and Gusta (Eddleman) Cook. She married Joseph B. Nesselhauf on November 24, 1937 and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1979. On July 24, 1982, she married John H. Rasp and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1993.

Mrs. Rasp was a secretary at St. Cecilia School for 19 years, a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and past president of St. Cecilia Council for Catholic Women.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and her husbands were two brothers, Douglas Gallagher and Samuel Gallagher and one sister, Lillian McLean.

Those left to mourn her passing are her children, Carol A. (Matthias) Meyer of Imperial, Missouri, Joseph L. (Charleis) Nesselhauf of St. Louis, Janice L. (David) Gerdes of Imperial, Missouri, Kay C. (David) Ladenberger of Iberia, Missouri and James E. (Olga) Nesselfhauf of St. Louis; her step-children, Deloris (Kenneth) Wicks, Marlene Wade, John C. (Olivia) Rasp and Robert S. (Jackie) Rasp; a sister-in-law, Sally Gallagher; her godchild, Judith Fuchs; 21 grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 13, 2008 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Southern Funeral Home, 6322 South Grand Boulevard.

Memorials may be made to Nazareth Living Center, the Humane Society or in the form of masses and will be received at the funeral home.
