Joyce Ann Abboud of St. Louis passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Mary Queen and Mother Nursing Center having attained the age of 71 years, 8 months and 15 days.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 16, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Edison and Pauline (Kellogg) Eskew. She married Azeez Murphy Abboud on May 19, 1956 in St. Louis and he preceded her in death in 1984.

Mrs. Abboud was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Preceding her in death besides her parents and her husband were a son, Michael Abboud; a son-in-law, Don Abplanalp; one brother, Lawrence Eskew and a brother-in-law, Matthew Abboud.
Survivors are her son, Richard (Diane) Abboud of Turkey; her daughter, Sandra Abplanalp of Redington Shores, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Diane Abboud; a brother, Richard (Roberta) Eskew of St. Louis; a sister-in-law, Joan Eskew, of St. Louis; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her special nephew, Timothy (Carla) Eskew; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Southern Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Cecilia Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
