Joseph Angelo Motta, 99, of Millstadt, Illinois, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Garden Place, Columbia, Illinois.
Joseph was born on October 18, 1916, in St. Louis, Mo. the son of Pasquale and Adele Motta.
He served his country in the China-Burma-India Theater during Word War II as a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked as a dental technician until he retired. Joe was a member of St. James Church, the VFW, Knights of Columbus, and the St. James Over 50 Club.
On May 30, 1958, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, St. Louis, MO. he married the love of his life, the former Leodre Kalz.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, a brother, Bernard Motta, and sisters, Louise Shiodini, Victoria Spurr, and Frances Gassner.
Joe is survived by his children, Jerry (Barbara) Motta, of St. Louis, MO. and Sandy (John) Schiffhauer, of Millstadt, Il, grandchildren, Michelle Motta, of St. Louis, MO., Katherine Nieroda, Nicholas Nieroda, Hanna Schiffhauer, and Jesse Schiffhauer, all of Milllstadt, IL, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Those wishing to make a memorial are asked to be given to the kidney foundation and will be received at the funeral home.

VISITATION: Friends may call at the Creason Funeral Home, Millstadt on Thursday, March 17, 2016, from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00P.M. and from 8:45 A.M. to 9:15 A.M. on Friday, March 18, 2016.
FUNERAL: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. at St James Catholic Church, Millstadt, Illinois with Father Marvin Volk. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
