John T. 'Jack' Cunningham


John T. 'Jack' Cunningham of Millstadt, Illinois passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois having attained the age of 84 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Born September 29, 1930 in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was the son of Edward A. And Matilda Cunningham, nee Barker. He was united in marriage to Doris Waldron on October 6, 1956 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in East St. Louis, Illinois. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2013.
Mr. Cunningham was a civil engineer working road construction with St. Clair County Highway Department and Keeley Brothers for 40 years. He held a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, the Over 50 Club of which he was one of the principle organizers and the Knights of Columbus.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Doris; his brother, Edward R. Cunningham and three brothers-in-law, Ed Belz, Don Waldron and Ed Czech.
Surviving are his children, Patricia (Larry) Kenetski of Millstadt, Illinois, Kathy (Tom Borland) Cunningham of Las Vegas, Nevada and Geri (Joe Scurto) Cunningham-Scurto of Redondo Beach, California; his sister, Anna Marie (Dick Kuebrich) Czech of Collinsville, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Norma Belz and Ruth Waldron.
Friends may call on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic School or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Illinois with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating.
