John Isadore Ilya Mendel

John I. Mendel, 21, of Peoria, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 26, 2025.

He was born in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia on June 9, 2003. He was a successful car salesman in Peoria, IL.

He is survived by his parents, Joe and Mary Mendel of Chesterfield, MO, his brothers: Mike Wilson (Beth Rapoff) and Matthew Mendel, nephew and niece Finn and Charlotte Wilson, Aunts Darlene, Sharon and Helen, Great Uncle Phil and Uncle Al and many cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday April 7, 2025, from 9:00am-10:00am at The Oratory of Ss. Gregory and Augustine, 7230 Dale Avenue, Richmond Heights, MO 63117. Solemn Requiem (Latin) Mass will follow at 10:00am at the Oratory with Msgr. C. Eugene Morris, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Philippine Catholic Cemetery in St. Charles, MO.

Memorial contributions in memory of John may be directed to: The Missionary Sisters of St. Peter Claver, 667 S. Woods Mill Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017 or The Oratory of Ss. Gregory and Augustine or in the form of masses.  Envelopes will be available at the Oratory.
