James Richard Medley

James Richard Medley of Millstadt, Illinois, died at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 23, 2018, having attained the age of 74 years 4 months and 13 days. James was in Belleville, Illinois, the son of the late Jesse and Cecilia, nee Sikora, Medley.

James was a boilermaker by profession and a member of Boilermakers Union Local 363, a member of St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, Illinois an avid gardener, fisherman, and horse racing enthusiast.

He is survived by his siblings, Thomas "Tom" Medley, Millstadt, Illinois, Ann Sefcik, Waco, Texas, Cathy (Paul) Weber, Dupo, Illinois, John (Sherry) Medley, Edwardsville, Illinois, and Peter "Pete" Medley, Millstadt, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Sandy (Brad) Henry, Abilene, Texas, Cathy Sefcik, Austin, Texas, Susie (Rice) Mellen, Waco, Texas, Adam Weber, Dupo, Illinois, Luke (Michelle) Weber, Columbus, Ohio, Frank (Jamie) Weber, Caseyville, Illinois, Lauren (Nic Voges) Medley, Red Bud, Illinois, Brooke (Adam Barker) Medley, Hyattsville, Maryland, Joseph (Erin Phillips) Derr, Columbus, South Carolina, Jeremy Derr, Belleville, Illinois, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at the Creason Funeral Home, Millstadt, Illinois and from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at St. James Catholic Church, Millstadt, Illinois.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at St. James Church with Monsignor Marvin Volk officiating. Burial will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.
