James H. Boyer of St. Louis, Missouri entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family having attained the age of 89 years.
Born in Old Mines, Missouri, on February 23, 1931, he was the son of James R. (JR) and Barbara, nee Bequette, Boyer. He married Mary “Lou” Louise, nee Amsden on April 22, 1950, in Richwoods, Missouri. They were married over 62 years before she passed away on June 8, 2012.
Preceding his death, in addition to his wife and parents, were his children Richard “Rick” Boyer and Robert “Bob” Boyer; his brothers, Glen Boyer and Robert Boyer, who died in infancy; nephew, Glen Boyer, Jr.; son-in-laws, Russ Stone and Curt Otis; and too many cousins, in-laws and dear friends.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Theresa “Terry” (Thomas) Fitzgerald; James (Sally) Boyer; Jackie (Les Blumer) Spradling; Susan (Cal) Currinder; Sandy Stone; Thomas (Tracy McCorkle) Boyer; Toni (Bob Peth) Otis; and Timothy (Melissa) Boyer, daughter-in-law Pam Boyer, all living in the St. Louis area; sister, Yvonne “Tootsie” (Ron) Sullivan of DeSoto, Missouri;16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
Jim was a man of many trades over the years, business owner, laborer and retired from the Teamsters. He also had many nicknames, Hershel, Ningle, Poodle, (Pooh) and Juice. Member of Epiphany of Lord Catholic Church and South Broadway Athletic Club.
The family would especially like to thank Mercy South Hospice and their entire staff for the wonderful care given to Jim.
Those wishing to give a memorial in Jim’s memory are asked to give to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a future date.
