James Allen Masters

James Allen Masters of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Calvin Johnson Care Center in Belleville having reached the age of 79 years, 1 month and 14 days.

Born on October 21, 1931 in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was the son of Walter Orville and Nora Belle (Slinkard) Masters. He married Rosetta Murphy on July 23, 2005 and she preceded him in death on June 15, 2010.
Mr. Masters was retired from the United States Air Force having served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Number 8677 in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Preceding him in death besides his wife, Rosetta, were his parents and a sister, Marjorie Lee Suess.
Surviving are his step-son, Elmer Murphy of Waterloo, Illinois; his sister, Virginia Foster of Fayetteville, Illinois; a step-grandchild, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Family Hospice and will be received at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Terry Delaney officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
