Imelda H. Farek

Imelda H. Farek of Sullivan, Missouri, formerly of St. Louis, passed away on March 4, 2008 at the Life Care Center in Sullivan, Missouri. She had attained the age of 92 years. Born August 22, 1915 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Cornelius and Anna Schmitz. She married Joseph Farek in St. Louis in 1980 and he preceded her in death.

Preceding her in death were her three husbands, her parents, a daughter, Shirley Ann Layton, one brother, Aloyisius Victor Helmuth and two sisters, Flavia Bequette and Josephine Rempe.
Mrs. Farek is survived by a daughter, Carla Hansel of Sullivan, Missouri; four grandchildren, Deborah Layton Haiberg, Daniel Layton, Benjamin Hansel and Valerie Enke; four great-grandchildren, Danielle Manier, Holly Ann Hansel, Benjamin Hansel, Jr. and Tabitha Lamke and one sister, Mary Laub of California.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in St. Louis.

Following family wishes cremation was performed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
