Helen Ruth McCarty, nee Goforth, of Millstadt, Illinois, died at her home on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at the age of 67 years 9 months and 5 days.

Helen was born in Ridgway, Illinois, on July 15, 1946, to James and Mary Goforth, nee Jones.

Helen was a bus driver for the Millstadt Community School District 160 and ATS for 38 years. She was a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church, the Tuesday Nite Ladies League at Bel-Aire Bowl, and bowled in the Granny Tournament for 22 years.
Helen married the love of her life, Glen McCarty on September 23, 1967, at the First Baptist Church of Millstadt.

In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Thomas Goforth.

She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Connie (Robert) Stilwell, Bethalto, Illinois., and Rita (Bruce) Brinkman, Valmeyer, Illinois.; 2 sisters, Emily Kammerer, Glen Pool, Oklahoma., and Mary Edmonds, Sparta, Illinois.; 5 grandchildren, Robert Stilwell III, and Rachel Stilwell, both of Bethalto, Illinois., Dustin, Bethany, and Ryan Brinkman, all of Valmeyer, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.

For those wishing to leave memorials the family has asked that they be made to Spring Valley Baptist Church, the Cancer Care Clinic, or BJC Hospice Care.

VISITATION: Friends my call at the Creason Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington, Millstadt, Illinois, from 4:oo to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, and from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 24, 2014.

FUNERAL: Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerold Gerard officiating. Private Interment will follow at a later date at Mt Evergreen Cemetery, Millstadt, Illinois.
