Gordon 'Moose' Meyer, Jr. of Swansea, Illinois, formerly of Millstadt, Illinois entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Swansea Rehab and Health Care Center in Swansea, Illinois having attained the age of 72 years, 11 months and 7 days.
Born in Millstadt, Illinois on February 25, 1941, he was the son of Gordon 'Moose' and Leda Meyer, Sr., nee Lowe. He was united in marriage to Norma Gentry on June 27, 1959 and she survives his passing.
Moose was a barber in Millstadt for many years, a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, a former Jaycee and a member of the Barbers Union.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Tracy Lynn Meyer and two step-sisters, Altalee Jones and Frances Floyd.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Meyer of Swansea, Illinois; his children, Gordon 'Moose' (Jean) Meyer III of Belleville, Illinois and Debbie (David) Perez of Millstadt, Illinois; his sister, Mary (James) Eckert of Millstadt, Illinois; his grandchildren, Marty Brunk, Miles Brunk, Garrett Meyer, Michael Meier, Dustin Meier, all of Belleville, Illinois and Tracy Meier of Millstadt, Illinois; his great-grandchildren, Skyler Wade, Lexie Meier, both of Belleville, Illinois, Lailah Meier, Lacey Meier, both of Millstadt, Illinois and Emilee Meier of Belleville, Illinois, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends may call on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois and on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Illinois with Pastor Darrell Weber officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Evergreen Cemetery in Millstadt, Illinois.
