Glendon Ray Carter of Waterloo, Illinois passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Anthony's Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, having attained the age of 82 years, 5 months and 23 days.
Born in Nicholasville, Kentucky on November 13, 1933, he was the son of Clifton and Hazel Carter, nee Sebastian. He was united in marriage to Pauline Annette "Polly" Carter, nee Sneticki on September 16, 1956 at St. Mary's Lutheran Church in Roseville, Michigan and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2006.
Mr. Carter was a supervisor in the auto industry, a member of the Thoroughbred Racing Horse Association and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Pauline "Polly" Carter, his children, Gregory Baxter Carter, Glenn Antoine Carter, John Anthony Carter, all in childhood, Jerry Kay Carter and Kevin Carter in infancy; his sisters, Barbara Fay (Wayne) Capshaw, Sandra Kay Dole and his brothers, William Hagar and Allen Hagar.
Surviving are his children, Tracy (David) Haverstick of Pacific, Missouri, Michael William Konstan of Cleveland, Ohio; his sisters, Delores Jean (Jim) Davis and Judy Ruth (Al) Paxton, both of Livonia, Michigan; his grandchildren, David Scott (Becky) Haverstick of Indianapolis, Indiana, Teresa Jo Haverstick of Sausalito, California, Jennifer Jean (Steven) Feinman of Indianapolis, Indiana and Johnathan Michael Haverstick of Waterloo, Illinois; his great-grandchildren, Nicholas Elliot Feinman, Hannah Jo Feinman, Allie Marie Feinman and Collin "Commodore Jaguar" Stevens; his godson, Mark Leroy of Dallas, Texas, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home in Waterloo, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the family and will be received at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Creason Funeral Home in Waterloo, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
