Gertrude H. Werner

Gertrude Helen Werner, 82 of Millstadt, Illinois passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday June 8, 2021. Gertrude was born on December 3, 1938 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Walter and Mary Margaret Coleman, nee Laughlin and they precede her in death.

Gertrude worked most recently as a florist for Sam's Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed growing all types of flowers, she also enjoyed cooking and being a grandmother-her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gertrude was a good, honest, hard-working woman who leaves behind her dear family and many beloved friends.

In addition to her parents, Gertrude was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Madden, her siblings: Raymond Coleman, Mary (Ervin) Keuenhoff, Joan Madden, Margaret (Clifton) Burgess, Sarah (Jim) Burgess, Rose (Hank) Weilmunster and Jane Coleman.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carl Werner of Millstadt, IL., her sons Walter (Susan) Madden of O'Fallon, IL and Leon (Val) Madden of Dallas, GA; her stepchildren; Carla Werner and Curt Werner, five grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren in addition to her extended family and many dear friends.

The family will hold a celebration of Gertrude's life at a later date.
