Francis Martin Quirin of Smithton, Illinois entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Belleville, Illinois, having attained the age of 74 years, 9 months and 23 days.
Born in Belleville, Illinois on April 29, 1940, he was the son of Martin and Marie Quirin, nee Roos. He was united in marriage to Susan May Kennedy on February 16, 1963 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Smithton, Illinois and she survives his passing.

After graduating from Freeburg High Shcool in 1958, he worked for Royal Typewriter as a technician repairing the old style manual typewriters. Later he proudly drove a deliver truck for Dr. Pepper and RC Cola. Finally, in 1980, after graduating frm Jays Truck Driving School, he acquired a job with a small company called CRH Delivery where he worked for the next 20 years until his retirement in 2000. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Smithton, Illinois and the 'Beer Chip Guy' at the summer picnics in Smithton.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his sister, Mary Ann (Quirin) Kenneth.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Susan May Quirin of Smithton, Illinois; his children, Michael (Robin) Quirin of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Paul (Alice) Quirin of Smithton, Illinois and Suzy (Joe) Weilmuenster of Smithton, Illinois; his six grandchildren, David Quirin of Swansea, Illinois, Steven Quirin of Mehlville, Missouri, Jacob Weilmuenster, Megan Weilmuenster, both of Smithton, Illinois, Joel Quirin and Nikki Quirin, both of Glen Carbon, Illinois; his great-grandson, Isaac Quirin of Swansea, Illinois; his four step-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life; his siblings, Roger Quirin, Elaine (Jerry)Sodam, both of Smithton, Illinois and Mark (Renee) Quirin of Belleville, Illinois and his beloved dog, Cooper.

The family would like to thank 'His Angels' at St. Elizabeths Hospital for the care and kindness shown to him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Smithton, Illinois or the Smithton Senior Center.
Friends may call on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Smithton, Illinois.

A funeral mass will follow on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at the church with Father Stan Konieczny officiating.

The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
