Frances K. Dickneite, nee Wild, 92, of Millstadt, IL, passed away on Saturday November 19, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL. Frances was born on January 13, 1930, to George and Margaret Wild, nee Eggers, and they precede her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Dickneite, her sons Charles Walker and Albert Patrick, her brother Donald Wild, her sisters, Katherine Koerber and Florence Miller, her brothers-in-law, Hubert Koerber and Harold Miller, her daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Walker, nee Hottenrott, her son-in-law, Bernall Volmer, her grandsons Curtis Volmer, Robert Vernon Walker, Jr., James Allen Walker and her granddaughters Kelly Costello and Cheryl Ann Walker, as well as extended sisters and brothers in law


Frances grew up in Belleville and later moved to Millstadt. She worked for 30 years in environmental services at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville, ultimately retiring with countless friends with whom she worked. She then began volunteering at the Millstadt Senior Center where she made many dear friends. Recently, Frances was recognized for her outstanding volunteerism at the Senior Center with the distinguished Volunteer Service Award given to her after the center re-opened to community dining to recognize her 15 years of devoted service.


In her spare time, Frances loved going to Branson, Missouri and taking in the shows and great music. In her earlier years, she loved to go camping with her family and loved to dance to country music. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.


Left to cherish her memory are her children: Robert Vernon Walker, Sr. (Ruby), Donna K. Volmer, Nancy L. Kish (John R. Kish, Jr.), daughter-in-law, Sue Patrick, daughter-in-law Cindy Walker, her brother Charles Wild, sister-in-law Delores Wild, her grandchildren: Brain Walker (Mary Ann), Jason Walker, Christine Kendall (Jake), Janice Andrews (Jerry), Andrew R. Walker, Dee Walker, Dr. Bradley R. Rimmert (Lisa), Phillip Kish (Heather), Tim Kish (Mary), Kimberly Kish (Lukas), Kenneth Kish (Rachel), Sherry Karstens (Jason), eleven great-grandchildren and her beloved beagles Penny and Princess in addition to extended family and many beloved friends.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 29, 2022, from 9am -12pm at Hoffen Funeral Home, 220 W. Washington St., Millstadt, IL, funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12pm with the Reverend Darrell Weber officiating. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
