Evelyn L. Holt

Evelyn L. Holt of Millstadt passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at her home having attained the age of 89 years, 5 months and 20 days.

Born in Bush, Illinois on March 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Flora (Beavers) Sapp. She married Louis A. Kunkle in Jackson, Missouri in 1938 and he preceded her in death. She later married Edward Holt.

Also preceding her in death were three children, Donald Eugene Kunkle, Richard L. Kunkle and James L. Kunkle; three brothers, Lloyd Sapp, Claude Sapp and Wayne Sapp and a sister, Thelma Duke.
Left to mourn her passing are her sons, Larry Allen (Sharon) Kunkle of Marissa and William K. (Jean) Kunkle of Millstadt; a daughter-in-law, Dixie Kunkle of Mascouth; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; a cousin, Marie Hickman of Elkville, nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Holts family wishes to express a special thanks and their prayers to a good friend, Darlene Neimeyer and the special angels of mercy at Southern Illinois Hospice, Dee, Amy, Bobbie and Denise. The family appreciates all that you did for their mother. God will have many rewards for you in heaven.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Creason Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Darrell Weber officiating. Interment will follow in Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville.
