Father Eugene Gerard Linnemann of Columbia, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at his home having attained the age of 56 years, 4 months and 18 days.

Born on October 13, 1954 in Belleville, Illinois, he was the son of Elmer Leo and Catherine, nee Marquardt, Linnemann.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception Cemetery Committee.

Preceding him in death was his father, Elmer L. Linnemann.

Surviving are his mother, Catherine Linnemann of Columbia, Illinois; his brother, Morris (Stella) Linnemann of Columbia, Illinois; his sister, Sharon Ferrell of Columbia, Illinois; his niece, Jessica (Chris) Packard of Columbia, Illinois; his nephews, Adam (Sahra) Linnemann of Columbia, Illinois and Jason Ferrell of Columbia, Illinois; his great-niece, Sydney Packard; his great-nephew, Nash Linnemann; cousins and many friends.

Friends may call from 3:30 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 and from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia, Illinois. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 A.M. on Friday and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Education Fund, Gibault High School or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Columbia with Father Carl Sherrer officiating and Father J. Clyde Grogan as Homilist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Creason Funeral Home in Millstadt, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
