Emil L. Stearns

Emil L. Stearns, 85 of Oakdale, Illinois passed away on Tuesday February 23, 2021 in Nashville, Illinois. Emil was born on June 24, 1935 in Pilot Knob, Illinois to Nicholas and Nellie Stearns, nee Fry, and they precede him in death. Emil married his beloved wife of 50 years, Eleanor Stearns, nee Cross on July 5, 1956 and she precedes him in death.

After serving his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force, Emil worked for McDonnell-Douglas Corporation and then for Farm Service. He eventually retired as a coal miner. In his spare time, Emil enjoyed coyote hunting and spending time with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; David (Sara) Stearns and Michael (Judith Kay) Stearns, both of Oakdale, Illinois, his grandchildren; Latoya Stearns, Levi Stearns, Dusty Stearns, Zachary Stearns, Nicki Stearns, Erin Stearns and his great-grandchildren; Liam Stearns and Leo Stearns.

Per his wishes, his body was cremated and services are not planned at this time.
